Rafael Nadal: head to 2021, heart to 2020
Head or heart: Rafael Nadal will have to make some very important choices in the coming days, to try to understand what to do with this season, after the decision not to defend the title at the US Open and after the Mutua Madrid Open was canceled.

So Rafa will have to make a choice with his head or his heart. He is a very experienced, wise and intelligent player, and is therefore considering whether to do like Roger Federer, or as a back directly to the Australian Open 2021 and skip the rest of 2020.

He is still undecided whether to play in Rome or not: “I’m preparing for the season in Europe, but a lot will depend on how the situation will be. Whether everything will be under control or not. Going from hard court to clay is always quite dangerous for my body and above all for my future.

Even if I decided to play the US Open I would have continued to train on red. At present I don’t know if I will play in Rome. After the cancellation of the Madrid tournament, I am waiting for the new calendar. At that moment I will take a final decision,” he said.

What will Rafael Nadal do for Rome and Paris?
Words that alarm his fans, but that make it clear how much he is carefully evaluating the European health situation, after the cases of Covid-19 are on the rise, even in Spain, France, Italy, Germany and the UK.

However, Rafa, after losing 2000 points from the US Open, will also have Roland Garros to defend. And in fact, here the heart takes over: Nadal could play without problems in Paris if the safety and health conditions were to be adequate.

Regarding the US Open, he said: “My heart suggests to me that it would be better to concentrate fully on 2021, but there are also many other interests at stake. It was not an easy decision to make, but the situation in the world is still a lot.

complicated. We have decided that we will stay here, hoping that the situation will improve and that we can return to the field soon. The US Open is a great tournament, I am not so arrogant as to argue otherwise just because I will not be present I never wanted to live a year like this.

Neither me nor anyone else. Later we will see what 2021 has in store for us, I will face it with the greatest hope and with the utmost professionalism. I hope to play Roland Garros, this is my hope. I am preparing, but we have to wait to see how the picture of the pandemic will evolve in the coming weeks.

The situation appears to have worsened slightly. My wish is to be there for the tournament, but only if conditions permit.” But Rafael Nadal will still have to evaluate the European health situation in the coming weeks to decide what to do or what not to do, always poised between the reason of the headand those of the heart.

‘Without Roger Federer’s patience…’, says famous trainer

After more than a year of inactivity, Roger Federer will return to play a tournament on 8 March in Doha. The Swiss maestro last played an official match at the 2020 Australian Open, when he was defeated in three sets with Novak Djokovic (later winner of the tournament).

Many questions that arise spontaneously to millions of fans around the world, above all “Will he be able to get back competitive?” His former coach, Heinz Gunthardt, told him about the matter. “It will be one of the greatest challenges ever seen in the world of sport.

There is no doubt. A couple of things have to be fine. He has to move well, he has to build a little confidence with the pitch and with the game, as well as with his body. Playing at a high level right away? Possible, but the first thing to do will be to serve well.

Of course, though, he won’t be used to the game, but that’s not the biggest problem. The focus will be on how well he can move. Why not, he could even win Wimbledon maybe. Why don’t fans have to be optimistic about his return? There is much more to be curious than pessimistic about his condition.”

While speaking with Rene Stauffer, Pierre Paganini made a startling revelation, explaining how Federer’s body has suffered significant degradation during this period – which is in sharp contrast to its condition during his 2016 injury hiatus.

Paganini talks about Roger Federer

“Without Roger Federer’s patience, the guillotine would have fallen long ago,” Pierre Paganini stated. “He depends on it (passion), and so do we! When a player who’s almost 40 has to do exercises that a 70-year-old can do without any problems, and is happy that it gets better every day – if that’s not passion (then what is).”

Paganini further revealed that Roger Federer’s participation at the Dubai Open is not yet a guarantee, as was previously believed to be. “At the moment it is only clear that he is playing Doha, then we’ll see,” Paganini revealed.

Federer is the most successful player at the Doha Open, winning the tournament previously on three occasions in 2005, 2006, and 2011. The event is played on hard courts in an outdoor environment. The tournament will be played from the 8th of march and will end on the 13th of the month. The ATP Dubai 500 will begin on the 14th of March and will end on the 20th of March.

Novak Djokovic: ‘I once showed my son Stefan who Rafael Nadal is’

Novak Djokovic attended an event held by his endorsement Asics, shoe producer, on Saturday in Shanghai, China, and the interviewers showed him a photo featuring him and his son Stefan staying on a bench together looking at something on the Wimbledon practice courts.

That was actually a very funny moment. ‘I was showing him (Rafael) Nadal, who was playing two courts away because he doesn’t know anybody from tennis but he knows Nadal because I explained him, This is the guy who hits the ball very very hard.

When he sees him, he says, Oh, you are the guy who hits the ball very very hard’, said Djokovic. Talking on his comeback, the 31-year-old added: ‘I worked very hard to be able to regain confidence on the court after that I had surgery in February.

It took me several months to be able to get my game together. I have made some compensations with my game especially with my serve, I made certain changes with the racket so it took a little bit of time to get used to the new racket and serve and not to have the elbow disturbing me.
