The ravishing Russian, Lana had strong words of praise for ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch during a recent interview with TalkSport.

During the interview, Lana discussed how the former WWE Raw Women’s Champion moved her to tears and how she helped Lana during their time together in the WWE.

She told the outlet: “Becky has helped me a lot. That would be someone that probably people don’t know about because of characters, storylines etc. But man, I have learned so much from Becky! I think partly, before The Man started, at live events she would be in the match and taking heat and I would be learning from her. She was so tough on me. But man, if she wasn’t tough, I wouldn’t be where I am right now. She was so tough [laughs] she would always be like ‘toughen up!’ and this and that.

Lana continued: “And now, I get texts from her saying ‘I’m so proud of you.’ She texts me every single week. I’m so thankful for that because when this whole pandemic started, I remember being so discouraged and I remember her telling me ‘you’re so strong. You’re such a strong woman. Now you’ve got to be who you are. Keep on carrying this, keep working hard, harder than anyone else so we can bring the people back that we love so much’ – and I remember those words [begins to cry].

Lana concluded: “I’m sorry. I just remember when she was like ‘you’ve got to be the strong woman that you are’ – those words helped me not to give up, you know? Hearing Becky say that about me. Every single day I start my morning like ‘I’m strong, I’m resilient I’m durable – I’m going to keep going.’ I just think it’s so important the words that we use to people and that’s such a great example of Becky giving me hope. Her texts and guidance every single week is just… I’m so thankful.

Becky Lynch

Not only is Becky Lynch “The Man” on WWE programming, but she’s apparently a beacon of light offering encouraging words to one WWE female talent.

WWE Superstar Lana admits she wouldn’t be where she is today and gotten to this point in her career if not for a handful of people behind the scenes in the company. Thanking Fit Finlay, TJ Wilson and Natalya for helping her with her in-ring work, Lana gave props to another WWE star who convinced her not to quit.

Lana sat down with Talk Sport and spoke about her trials and tribulations getting to this point in her WWE career. She discussed how trainers continually told her she wasn’t athletic but also said that a few people convinced her never to quit and to prove those people wrong. Among those Lana believed was influential in her success this past year was Becky Lynch.

Lana said, “Becky has helped me a lot. That would be someone that probably people don’t know about because of characters, storylines etc. But man, I have learned so much from Becky!” Lana talked about Becky being tough on her but that she needed that toughness to make it through the hard times. Interestingly, Lynch no longer tries to toughen Lana up, instead she continually send text messages of support.

Lena said:
“And now, I get texts from her saying ‘I’m so proud of you.’ She texts me every single week. I’m so thankful for that because when this whole pandemic started, I remember being so discouraged and I remember her telling me ‘you’re so strong. You’re such a strong woman.”

She says Lynch constantly encouraged her to keep true to who she was and to work harder than everyone else and that she believed her hard work would help “bring the people back that we love so much’”

Lana Said Words Matter
It wasn’t long ago that Lana was the subject of a WWE documentary and she talked about how mean fans can be. It’s at those moments where she remembers Lynch’s messaging.

“I just think it’s so important the words that we use to people and that’s such a great example of Becky giving me hope. Her texts and guidance every single week is just… I’m so thankful.”

UFC 259 free fight: Watch Amanda Nunes nuke Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey looks

UFC 259 is right around the corner on March 6th, 2021, and if the UFC was still giving their card one word power-names like they were in the first decade of the 00’s — VENDETTA, PAYBACK, FURY — this card would be STACKED. Three title fights, and the ‘weakest’ of them featuring the women’s GOAT of MMA, Amanda Nunes? Pretty great.

The big diss surrounding the Nunes fight is it’s in the notoriously thin women’s featherweight division against a pretty outgunned opponent. Megan Anderson is coming into this bout a staggering +800 underdog to Nunes’ -1000 favorite (-1500 on some sportsbooks). Those are the kind of numbers we haven’t seen in title fights since Ronda Rousey ruled the women’s bantamweight division.

And hey, when Ronda was wrecking her way through six title defenses, we didn’t mind too much that the women she faced had little chance. We just enjoyed the carnage. So if we aren’t giving Megan much of a chance, maybe that’s the way we should appreciate Amanda Nunes’ second defense of the 145 pound belt at UFC 258.

As a reminder of how much fun it is to watch Amanda rip through competition, the UFC has uploaded her destruction of Rousey from UFC 207 back in December of 2016. Enjoy.
