Will Maria Sharapova soon marry British businessman Alexander Gilkes? It could be 2022 the year for this new and anticipated wedding, but the date of the event is still full of doubts. At the Met Gala in New York, immediately after the US Open 2021, the former Russian tennis player wore a beautiful dress designed by designer Gabriela Hearst.

In a recent interview with MSN, Sharapova revealed the uncertainties surrounding her wedding date. She said: “I think with the air of this period it is difficult to make plans. There are too many uncertainties and we have not yet decided on an official date.

We haven’t talked about it yet because we want to put our relatives and friends at ease, with the right climate and not by pressing them to participate in something by force of circumstances.” The five-time slam champion began her relationship with the entrepreneur in 2018, as evidenced by the couple’s numerous trips.

The engagement, however, came about a year ago, in 2020, the year in which Sharapova said goodbye to the tennis courts.
