Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey continues to make waves within the royal family. According to royals experts, Kate Middleton and Prince William aren’t happy Markle opened up about the Duchess of Cambridge during the two-hour chat. Specifically, Markle said the rumor that she made Middleton cry in 2018 was actually the other way around.
“The reverse happened,” Markle told Winfrey. “And I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone, because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something. But she owned it, and she apologized and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing.”
Now we’re learning a little more about what’s reportedly happening behind the scenes post-interview. “William is very protective of Kate and can get very angry,” Penny Junor, a respected biographer of both Prince William and Prince Harry, tells People. “For Meghan to name Kate in a negative light is worse than being attacked himself.”
Prince William broke his silence earlier this month about the interview while speaking to a reporter. “We are very much not a racist family,” he told Sky News on March 11, following Markle’s opening up about the treatment she’s faced from the press. (The Duchess of Sussex also says there were conversations within the royal family while she was pregnant about the potential color of Archie’s skin.)
Additional clips from the Winfrey-Markle-Prince Harry interview were released on CBS This Morning the day after. In one of them Markle explains how her treatment from the press is very different from Middleton’s experience. “Kate was called Waity Katie, waiting to marry William,” Markle said. “While I imagine that was really hard—and I do, I can’t picture what that felt like—this is not the same. And if a member of his family will comfortably say, ‘We’ve all had to deal with some things that are rude,’ rude and racist are not the same.”
Usain Bolt reveals he’s ‘always’ had a crush on Beyoncé and he was starstruck to meet her
He may hold the title as the fastest man in the world, but even Usain Bolt gets nervous once in a while, especially when it comes to meeting beautiful women. Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on Friday morning, the nine-time Olympic gold medallist revealed that he has a crush on none other than Beyoncé.
The sporting legend revealed his celebrity crush live on Lorraine
“Because I was always a fan, I’ve always had a crush on Beyoncé, so I’ve always had a conversation I would have [in my head] and when I met her I was like [stares open-eyed] ‘hi’,” he told the day time host. “I could tell I was looking at her weird because she was looking at me like, ‘why is he staring at me’. It was fun though.”
President Obama also has an affect on the 30-year-old, who admitted: “When I met Obama that was also massive for me.”
Usain was on Lorraine to chat about his new documentary I Am Bolt, which follows the sporting legend in the 18 months leading up to his historical Olympic triple win in Rio this year.
Talking about his training, Usain revealed: “People always say, ‘you make it look so easy, I could probably do it’ and I’m like, ‘no, no’. So to make people see the work that I put in and the strain that goes in, mentally and physically. I wanted people to see all of that so they could understand me better and to see the work I put in is no joke.”
The Olympic champion also shut down rumours that he was engaged to his main crush, girlfriend of two years, Kasi Bennett, following a heavily hinted Snapchat image of the couple on holiday. The sweet snap was accompanied by the caption “She said yes”, complete with emojis of a bride and a love heart.
“I’m not engaged. Me and my girlfriend, we went on a trip to Bora Bora and we took a picture and somebody edited my Snapchat, and edited it, and it said, ‘she said yes’ with a ring and a mad face and stuff and I was like [shocked face], it was well done though. It was well done, you know what I mean,” he explained.
Despite there being no talk of wedding bells anytime soon, it hasn’t stopped Usain’s mum from hoping she will be a grandmother in the near future. “My mum is pressuring me. I was like, ‘mum just let me retire and I’ll get there,'” he said.
Adele Reveal that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Sent her Flower. She is Starstruck
The ‘Easy on Me’ hitmaker said that the ‘Jungle Cruise’ actor is the one person who she’d be starstruck to meet and she “nearly fell off” her chair when she received a bouquet of flowers from him as an apology for not being able to be in the audience for her recent ‘One Night Only’ TV special, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
She said: “Someone I’ve never met, that I think I would actually cry, is The Rock. I was the biggest wrestling fan when I was younger! He sent me flowers because he and his wife couldn’t make it to my show and literally I nearly fell off me chair!”
Adele was quick to stress she doesn’t have a crush on the ‘Moana’ star.
She added: “He always paints his little girl’s nails and stuff like that, doesn’t he? He’s so cute. I wish he was my dad… Oh yeah, it’s not like I – I haven’t got a crush on him or anything. It’s just, he’s amazing. He’s just incredible, I want him to be my mate. I want him to be my friend.”
The 33-year-old star is a big fan of the former WWE star, one thing she doesn’t enjoy is ‘Real Housewives’ and she fears her “brain will die” if she starts dedicating time to the Bravo franchise.
Speaking during a ‘Power of Make-Up’ video on NikkieTutorials’ YouTube channel, she explained: “I know a lot of people love it, but I can’t. My brain will die, I can’t…I don’t know who any of them are, so I don’t feel like I can start from the beginning when it’s been on for so long. I’m not going to lie, it doesn’t work for me.”
Adele said she had once tried to watch ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’.
She added: “One time I did watch one episode of ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ when they were all like literally killing each other, but it was too much, I was like I can’t, I can’t watch. I’d rather watch a wildlife programme.”
Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Helped Induct Jay-Z into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Jay-Z has officially been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame—after a little help from Beyoncé and their nine-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
The rapper’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which was held last month but aired on HBO this past weekend, included a tribute video of a cast of stars reciting some of his most famous lyrics.
The video kicks off with Beyoncé. “In my lifetime, more than a million rhymes, no joking,” the iconic singer begins.
The video tribute goes on to show a surprise cast of more than 40 A-listers honoring Jay-Z, including Rihanna, Regina King, Halle Berry, Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell, John Legend, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx, and LeBron James.
To close off the sweet video message, Blue Ivy pulls a (censored) line from her dad’s 1998 track “Ride or Die.”
“Congrats, S. Carter, ghost writer. You paid the right price, so we just made your hits tighter,” the nine-year-old Grammy winner says before giggling.
